Family Trails Book

In 2011 a book of Family Trails, written by Susanna Ramsey, was published by the Friends of Richmond Park. The trails are aimed at children aged 6 to 11. They would be ideal for primary school children.

There are 6 walks, each with 20 or more photographs of items to look out for on the way. There is a short paragraph about each object. They include a wide range of natural history items; different types of tree, acorn and bark, various common birds, butterflies and dragonflies, deer and horses. There are also interesting facts about the buildings in the Park and its history.

Each trail comes with a detailed map, showing the route and where to look for each item.

The book costs £6.99. It can be bought in the Park, from the Visitor Centre at Pembroke Lodge car park. It is also on sale in Waterstones and other local book shops.
